Tree Tops nestles atop a small hillock in its own private ’wood’, overlooking the breathtaking Banhoek Valley. Only a ten minute drive from Stellenbosch (via the awe-inspiring Helshoogte Pass) on the main road to Boschendal and the historic Franschhoek Valley. The cottage, located on a privately owned farm, is surrounded by a collection of the Cape’s premier wine estates namely; Alluvia, Camberley, Delaire, Thelema, Tokara, and Zorgvliet at the heart of the Stellenbosch wine region.

The Banhoek Valley (Pronounced bun-hook)
Perhaps one of the best kept secrets in the whole of the Cape winelands is the Banhoek Valley. Due to its unique location and micro climate the terroir of this wine region (appellation) is being recognised as the country’s premier wine producing area. The valley is reached after a short 10 minute climb up the Helshoogte Pass, after which you reach the valley at a height of 396m above sea level.

Tree Tops lies at the western base of the Simonsberg Mountain. The cottage is located on a working Protea farm, Stonebridge, on the outskirts of Stellenbosch (ad 1678) in the Banhoek Valley. Our GPS coordinates are: S 33°54'42" E 18°56'23"

When to Visit
While spring and summer (September to April) are considered to be high season and the best time of the year to visit - Autumn (May/ June) is also a beautiful time of the year in the Western Cape. Winter has its good days too!
